Date / Time: April 19, 2017 6:00 pm
Wednesday, April 19 | 12:00PM – 1:00PM Mountain Time
Emerging from a program established 30 years ago in Littleton, Colorado, economic gardening has taken root as a powerful approach to support local economic development. Economic gardening focuses on “second stage” companies—those that are beyond the start-up phase—providing them tools and information to help reach new customers or expand into new markets.
In this webinar, we will hear Chris Gibbons, who pioneered the concept, discuss the early days of the program, the concepts, benefits, and strategies communities can use to strengthen businesses. Next, we will hear from Mike Lambert at the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network’s Market Research Center. Mike will provide an overview of the SBDC’s program and highlight successful strategies for economic gardening in rural communities.
