Cheatgrass Management in Southwest Montana

Date / Time: December 10, 2018 6:00 pm
Location: Beaverhead County Fair, South Argenta Street, Dillon, MT, USA

Cheatgrass is a big issue that is threatening agriculture and conservation alike. Kyle Cutting, Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge Biologist, and Dr. Lisa Rew, an expert in plant invasion ecology at Montana State University, have been working on a project that is treating cheatgrass in rangelands, while maximizing native plant diversity. Cheatgrass treatments began in Fall of 2017 and, so far, the method is proving highly effective! Come join Kyle and Dr. Rew to learn more about the project, treatment regime, and how this can be applied locally!

Dinner will be provided courtesy of the Weed District and the Beaverhead County Extension Office. A RSVP, while not required, is appreciated to ensure enough food is available for all! **One (1) credit toward your Applicator License(s) is available!!**
