Amphibian Survey Training

Date / Time: June 11, 2019 9:00 am

The Madison River Foundation will be partnering with the Forest Service, Madison Ranger District this summer to conduct amphibian monitoring surveys. The information gathered at lakes in the district will help provide an inventory for adult amphibians and eggs as well as water temperature and vegetation information. There will be an amphibian survey training Tuesday, May 11th held by the district’s fishery biologist Darin Watschke. We will meet at 9 am at the Madison Ranger District office, 5 Forest Service Road in Ennis then head out to Sureshot Lakes for the training. It is expected to be a full day there covering sampling protocol and gathering data. It’ll be a great chance to learn hands-on skills for amphibian surveying and find out more information about the continual sampling for the summer. Contact Chelsea Pardo (chelsea@madisonriverfoundation.org) if you are interested in attending the training, or if you have any questions.
