2018 Montana Floodplain Resource Seminar

The 2018 Montana Floodplain Resource Seminar is now open for registration!  We have an excellent line-up of national and state speakers for the week long annual event.  Edward Thomas, Esq.  has been busy adding additional speakers and workshops for the Seminar.  Please review the attached Final agenda.  Another workshop was added for community officials on Monday morning.  Seating is limited so register early.

The year the Floodplain Resource Seminar will offer free training to Montana’s floodplain professionals, local attorney’s, emergency managers, and others interested. Sessions take place July 16-19 at Helena College. CE credits are available. Snacks and beverages will be provided.  Free lunch will be provided for Wednesday and Thursday.   Sessions offered this year include:

  • NFIP Overview (Mon, 7/16 – 8:30 – 12:00)
  • Practical Community Resiliency and Floodplain Management (Mon, 7/16 – 8:15 – 12:00)
  • CFM Exam (Mon, 7/16 – 1:00 – 4:00)
  • Using Flood Insurance as One Tool of Resiliency and Recovery (Mon, 7/16 – 1:00 – 4:30)
  • Resiliency and Sustainability Empowering Residents and the Local Community (Tues, 7/17 – 8:00 – 5:00)
  • Legal Liabilities and Land Use Pitfalls (Wed, 7/18 – 8:00 – 5:00)
  • Hydraulic Modeling (Thur, 7/19 – 9:00 – 4:00)
