Harmful algae blooms are something Montana has to worry about every summer, and now there have been a couple places in central and western Montana confirmed to have the harmful blue green algae.

The Department of Environmental Quality says they have been seeing many reports of the blooms in Canyon Ferry, Holter Lake, and Lake Helena area, Nilan reservoir, and Willow Creek reservoir.

They said although these areas may have algae blooms, do note that not all of the waterways are covered in it. Just certain sections may have blooms.
