The Habitat Conservation Biologist will work as part of an innovative and collaborative team of professionals within FWP as well as with professionals from other agencies and tribal governments, a variety of conservation organizations, and private landowners. Normal office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, but hours will vary and will include travel and occasional field work throughout the year.
Approximately 15% of time is spent in the field working in environments that include exposure to dust, noise, extreme temperatures, and inclement weather, including some climbing, hiking and lifting. Fieldwork includes operating potentially dangerous equipment, and handling dangerous materials, traveling in adverse weather conditions, and may include occasional use of small, low-flying aircraft. About 75% of time is spent in an office where work is done in a controlled, comfortable setting. About 10% of time involves travel to and from work sites, or to various meetings and conferences.
