Planning, directing and carrying out fisheries management, monitoring, research and other activities in the Helena fisheries management area. Protect and enhance native and/or non-native fish species/populations/communities for the benefit and enjoyment of the public. Protect and enhance aquatic habitat including physical habitat features, water quality, and water quantity. Acquire and otherwise provide public fishing access. Provide public opportunities for learning about the responsible use and management of fisheries; rivers, lakes and streams; and other aquatic resources. Primary geographic area of this responsibility is the Missouri River Reservoirs and tributaries below Canyon Ferry Dam including Canyon Ferry Lake, Hauser Lake and tailwaters, Lake Helena, Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir, and Holter Lake and tailwaters, all in FWP Region 4. The incumbent is responsible for implementing actions identified in annual work plans developed in concert with the regional fish manager, Helena staff, and other fisheries biologists. The incumbent implements agreed upon actions with minimal supervision.
