The Thompson Falls Area Avista Aquatic Program Leader Fishery Biologist (APL) will need the technical skills and experience to develop and implement protection, mitigation and enhancement projects and programs within the framework of Avista’s Clark Fork Settlement Agreement (CFSA) associated with the FERC License that allows for the continued operation of Noxon Rapids and Cabinet Gorge Dams. The primary duties of this position are to work collaboratively with Avista staff, project contacts, and subcontractors to ensure projects are implemented efficiently and effectively within approved budgets and financial constraints and provide guidance and oversight to projects. In addition, this position will collaborate with working group members to develop forward looking goals and programs to guide implementation that aligns with resource, management and regulatory needs; be responsible for all FWP required permits for implementation of the CFSA programs in Montana; and ensure reports and other deliverables are accurate, timely, and to agreed-upon standards.
The Thompson Falls APL is responsible for supporting Avista in the implementation of the Montana Tributary Habitat Acquisition and Recreational Fishery Enhancement Program, ensuring projects are consistent with the intent of the CFSA and represent both Avista and MFWP interests. Implements Program activities in close collaboration with Avista and other CFSA stakeholders.
