The Western IPM Center’s annual grants program is now open and accepting proposals.

To address priority pest-management needs in the West, the Center will award about $250,000 in funding for one-year grants in the following categories:

  • Project Initiation, which begin new IPM research. $30,000 maximum.
  • Work Groups, which bring collaborators together. $30,000 maximum.
  • Outreach & Implementation, which directly promote IPM adoption. $30,000 maximum.
  • IPM Planning Documents, which create crop profiles, pest management strategic plans or practice evaluations. $15,000 maximum.

As a regional program, Western IPM Center grants encourage multi-state collaborations. Project directors for Western IPM Center proposals must be located in the 17 states or territories that make up the region, and proposals must address an identified regional priority.

Completed proposals must be received by 5 p.m. Pacific on December 6. We’re using a new proposal management system this year, so submit your proposal early if you’re able, just to be safe.

Good luck, and please forward the announcement to contacts and colleagues around the West!
