Board of Directors Best Practices and Development

While many watershed groups in eastern Montana are closely associated with conservation districts. A key distinction between watershed groups working with conservation districts and other non profit organizations is their stakeholder driven approach to activities, which often presents itself in Board/Supervisor representation in the organization’s leadership structure. The challenge for these local groups is growing a board of directors or supervisors with an eye towards organizational growth and sustainability. MWCC will compile resources specifically relevant for watershed organizations looking to maximize their effectiveness through board and volunteer recruitment.
